Alternate themes for displays and storytimes by month

Housewife

We all know that sometimes it’s hard to come up with fresh ideas for displays and storytimes year after year. You know the obvious holidays, but after you’ve done the same display for five years running, it’s time to change it up. One of the best resources for sparking a tired imagination is Chases’ Calendar, a list of special month designations.

For instance, did you know that January is “Learn Spanish Month”? Or that July “Bikini Month”?

Neither did we!

Well, below is a list of special month designations that are great for kids sections. As we go through the year we’ll add suggested book titles to each which can serve as the basis of a great display, or a special storytime.

Feel free to e-mail us if you want to make a title suggestion we missed.
